Productivity Commission Review of Public Safety Mobile Broadband
In April 2015 the Productivity Commission released an issues paper on its study of the best way to secure a mobile broadband capability to meet the needs of public safety agencies.
Access a copy of the issues paper on the Productivity Commission website.
The Commission is undertaking a ‘first principles’ analysis of the most efficient, effective and economical way of delivering a public safety mobile broadband capability. The Commission is required to report back to the Commonwealth Government by the end of the year.
The Telco Authority is preparing the NSW Government response to the issues paper. The Authority is interested to hear from NSW Agencies who have an interest in the use of a mission or business critical mobile broadband capability to deliver services to the community, particularly around the benefits such a capability would provide.
