The Spectrum Management Office (SMO) has been established in the Telco Authority to ensure a coordinated, efficient and strategic approach to the management of spectrum that supports government operations in NSW. The SMO can be contacted via telco.spectrum@finance.nsw.gov.au.
In carrying out its spectrum management role, the SMO is guided by (but not constrained to):
- Nationally agreed policies, procedures and guidelines including the Government Services Radiocommunications Assignment Licensing Instructions (RALI GS1)
- ACMA produced procedures and instruments (e.g. RALI’s, Embargos, Frequency Assignment Practices)
- Relevant legislation including the Commonwealth Radiocommunications Act 1992
These are referenced within the manual as well as being captured in the document library and can be sourced if required.
The Manual provides guidance around the processes and procedures used by the SMO to ensure the efficient management of spectrum in NSW.
